This position is in a busy accountancy practice so some knowledge of a practise environment would be advantageous. Although this is a temporary contract to cover maternity leave it could become permanant for the right candidate.

Contract start date June 14

Responsibilities.
Running appoximately 80 sepearte weekly and monthly payrolls
Creating payroll policies and procedures
Advising on tax and pay laws
Calculating and issuing pay by cash, cheque or electronic transfer
Deducting tax and national insurance payments
Processing holiday, sick and maternity pay and expenses
Calculating overtime, shift payments and pay increases
Book keeping on computerised systems.

Skills & Knowledge
Sage payroll and accounts line 50
Excel & Word
Good mathematical and IT skills
Good spoken and written communication skills
An organised and methodical approach
Logical thinking and problem-solving ability
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good time management, for meeting strict deadlines
Honesty
Respect for confidential information
Able to work using own initiative
